MDY celebrates 25 years

25th Anniversary

On Saturday, May 4, St. Marguerite d’Youville School celebrated 25 years of serving the community. Bishop Wayne Kirkpatrick  presided over mass along with Monsignor Marco Laurencic and Reverend Jeremias Inoc. Many thanks to our school choir under the direction of Ms. Alves, Mrs. Smith, and former MDY teacher Mr. Tanguay, for sharing their beautiful voices. Thanks as well to Mr. Perrera for supplying a delicious and beautiful anniversary cake, and to the Galeota family for adding to the festive decorations.

It was a pleasure to see members of our community, both past and present, join in celebrating 25 years of education. We were honoured to have guest speakers from the board; Mr. Brian Beal, Director of Education, Mrs. Maria Hardy, Board Trustee, from the city, Mr. Ward Deputy Mayor, as well as special speakers from our first year, Mr. Jim Sirdevan, principal, and Mr. Brent Elbers, valedictorian. (check agenda!!!)

Here’s to the next 25 years of building community at MDY!
